Many clients dealing with trauma feel overwhelmed, restless and stressed, often flooded with emotions like anxiety, guilt or shame. Others may feel very dissociated from their emotions and often isolated from those around them. Traumatic experiences don’t always feel like they’re in the past. When triggered, the associated emotions, images, and beliefs can feel as real and immediate as if they are happening in the present. This can lead to a persistent sense of danger, as if something bad could happen at any moment.
Living through trauma often shapes a person’s core beliefs about themselves, others, and the world, making it difficult to feel safe in relationships or to trust others. The step of seeking counselling can be difficult, but also life changing.
I care deeply about creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for women who have experienced trauma. My goal is to support my clients in integrating their traumatic experiences in an adaptive way, transforming their negative beliefs and self-perceptions, and helping them regain a sense of self-confidence, safety, and calm in the here and now. I believe in a holistic approach, guiding clients to better understand themselves and how their beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors have developed within the context of their personal history. This process helps to initiate positive changes that enable them to build and maintain strong, supportive relationships, feel kindness and compassion for themselves and live fulfilling, meaningful, and values-oriented lives.
My approach to therapy is characterized by openness, authenticity, and empathy. I integrate Schema Therapy and Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy (IRRT) to help clients heal from trauma, alongside CBT-approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Exposure Therapy. This combination has helped my clients to process past pain and develop new, healthier behaviors and beliefs.
To work with my brave and resilient clients, and to witness them confront their past pain and move toward growth and healing, is something deeply meaningful to me. I have the utmost respect for my clients and their courage to engage in the therapeutic process.

Experience & Training
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor holding a Master of Science in Psychology and as well a trained CBT Psychotherapist. Over the years, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient therapy settings, assessing and treating clients with depression, anxiety, trauma experiences, ADHD and personality disorders.
More About Me:
For me, feeling safe and grounded comes from finding balance. I value a comfortable home, where I can recharge through creative activities, nurturing my plants, getting lost in a book, or enjoying a board game night with friends. On the flip side, staying active is just as important for me—I love the energy and flow of dancing Kizomba and Urban Kizz, as well as the calmness that comes from swimming or hiking in nature.

It’s not uncommon to struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, or the long shadow of past relationships, such as ones that involved narcissistic abuse.
You may find it difficult to feel steady or
confident, or might notice yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. These patterns
often stem from early attachment experiences, past trauma, or years spent prioritizing others’
needs over your own. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and gently work toward
change, helping you build confidence and trust in yourself along the way.
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed and sex-positive. I draw on a
range of modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, and somatic techniques, to support nervous system
regulation and deep emotional processing.
Our work may include identifying protective
patterns, processing past experiences, and developing tools to help you feel more grounded,
empowered, and aligned with who you truly are.
I’m deeply committed to creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe to be fully
yourself. Healing doesn’t always happen in a straight line, but with the right support, enduring
change is possible. I’ll walk alongside you at your pace as you re-connect with your strengths,
set boundaries that honour your needs, and create new pathways forward.

The first chapter in starting counselling can feel so complex. The decision to take all this uncertain energy and focus it into setting up supports is a great way to start the process of healing and growth
In our work, I will be steady in ensuring your safety, needs, and perspective are the centre of the conversation. I can offer a counselling space that feels collaborative, honours your ancestral journey, your lived experience, self-determination, and integrity. I will give permission to every part of you to show up no matter how messy or focused they are. We will work at a pace that feels safe and ensure every part of you has given full consent to the process.
I will hold compassion and curiosity as we unpack how oppressive systems have impacted you. These oppressive systems can include racism, colourism and shadeism, heteronormativity and cisnormativity, fatphobia, patriarchy and misogyny, capitalism, and colonization.

I am a non-disabled, cisgender, heterosexual, South Asian woman. I am second generation settler (child to immigrant settlers). My matriarchal family roots lay in India and my patriarchal family roots lay in both Pakistan and India. Both sides of my family were touched and displaced by the partition in 1947, and were impacted by war. I offer counselling services in Vancouver, BC on stolen xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) lands. I was born and raised in so-called Lower Mainland and also spent time learning and living in Kelowna, BC on stolen Syilx Okanagan lands.
I am a Registered Social Worker with my master’s in social work. My previous work includes helping and advocating for those who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual violence and past research experience in burnout. More Than Just My Work:
Outside of work, I am also a competitive powerlifter, slow-reading bookworm, metal music-enjoyer, musician, at-home baker, and cross-stitcher. I find humour in the balance I hold with the rough and toughness while I’m in the outside world being in powerlifting and listening to metal music, but while I’m inside my home, I find joy in the softer things in life.

I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, focusing on the integration of mind and body to foster a sense of inner peace within the nervous system. My work involves guiding clients to reconnect with themselves, using approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and specialized techniques for nervous system regulation. By addressing how stress manifests both physically and emotionally, I help individuals develop a deeper understanding of their body’s signals and responses.
With each client, I prioritize creating a safe and empathetic environment where they feel seen and understood. My holistic approach allows me to tailor our work to each person’s unique journey, exploring areas such self-esteem, connecting with the inner child and challenges related to ADHD. This individualized support helps clients build resilience and navigate their lives and relationships with greater clarity and confidence.

When things are going wrong, change can sometimes feel impossible. If
you’re here, it’s probably because you’ve identified something in your life you aren’t
satisfied with and you’re ready to try something new.
I believe any challenge we encounter will impact our emotions, our thoughts, and our physical body. By tuning into all three, we can turn signs of distress
into sources of insight, and resources for self-soothing and emotional management.
To that end, EMDR Therapy is my preferred approach for assisting clients in facing and moving through traumas big and small. Combining the healing power of EMDR with elements of mindfulness, self-compassion, skill-building, and role-play techniques has helped my clients move through difficulties, heal past wounds, and get their lives back on track.
By looking for help, you have initiated a process that can transform your life. My clients show me that it is absolutely possible to feel, think, and react differently, and you don’t have to struggle towards change alone.

I am on a mission to help women break the intergenerational cycles of trauma. Clients often come to me feeling completely overwhelmed and frazzled, with nervous systems that have an incredibly difficult time settling. As you may know, when you’ve experienced emotional pain, neglect, or abuse in your past, it doesn’t just live in your memories – it shows up in your body.
It is an honour to guide the people I work with through EMDR Therapy and witness the untangling of hurt that’s been holding them back from fully connecting with their partners, children, parents and colleagues. I get so excited when I see clients heal parts of themselves they were previously fully disconnected from and leave therapy feeling clear-headed, confident, and capable both in their inner and outer relationships. Knowing this deep healing work breaks cycles of trauma, not just for my clients but for their children and future generations, makes it even more meaningful.

Driven by my natural tendencies toward compassion and curiosity, I pursued graduate school in Counselling Psychology, where I deepened my understanding not only of evidence-based psychotherapies but of intersubjectivity a key ingredient in transformative healing.
Along with my EMDR training and deep passion for working with women who have experienced trauma, I am also trained and experienced in play-based interventions for children and youth including Kalffian Sandplay Therapy. I worked as a counsellor and counsellor trainer in non-profits, the high school system, a hospital, a research lab, private practices and many iterations of my own practice before creating The Trauma Therapy Group. I have unashamedly used my own past pain as a means of motivation and a catalyst for personal and professional evolution.
