When in a state of distress, overwhelm, or having experienced trauma, it is common to feel anxious, depressed, hopeless, helpless, or stuck and unsure how to move forward or doubt if it’s even possible to do so. The mind and body are so connected and therapy helps us move through our emotional distress and embark on a journey of growth, change, and healing, which is absolutely possible for everyone.

I use a holistic, client-centered approach that integrates EMDR therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, Emotion-focused therapy, CBT, and somatic techniques. I work with adults as well as children and teens!

I aim to create a space that is warm, authentic, supportive, and safe. I believe that each person has great strengths and wisdom in their lived experiences, and that the mind, body, and spirit are immensely capable of healing. Therapy can have incredible and transportive effects; it can help you develop a greater understanding of self, work through old patterns and replace them with new ways of living, develop greater emotional resiliency, heal old wounds, and ultimately feel empowered and in control of your choices and your life. Thank you for being here and taking this first important step.

It’s not uncommon to struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, or the long shadow of past relationships, such as ones that involved narcissistic abuse.

You may find it difficult to feel steady or confident, or might notice yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. These patterns often stem from early attachment experiences, past trauma, or years spent prioritizing others’ needs over your own. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and gently work toward change, helping you build confidence and trust in yourself along the way.

My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed and sex-positive. I draw on a range of modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, and somatic techniques, to support nervous system regulation and deep emotional processing.

Our work may include identifying protective patterns, processing past experiences, and developing tools to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and aligned with who you truly are. I’m deeply committed to creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe to be fully yourself. Healing doesn’t always happen in a straight line, but with the right support, enduring change is possible. I’ll walk alongside you at your pace as you re-connect with your strengths, set boundaries that honour your needs, and create new pathways forward.

Experience & Training:

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Canadian Certified Counsellor, with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

Over the past decade, I have worked with a wide range of vulnerable communities, including refugee and immigrant populations, older adults, and 2SLGBTQIA+ folks - experience that continues to inform and enrich my therapeutic practice.

My work focuses on supporting clients through anxiety, relational injuries, life transitions, and trauma. I draw on evidence-based approaches such as EMDR Therapy, somatic practices, and self-compassion interventions to support deep and sustainable healing.

As a second-generation Canadian with Jewish and Slavic roots, I grew up in Quebec and speak French fluently. I am honoured to support diverse clients on their unique healing journeys. While English is my primary language of practice, I am expanding my work with Francophone clients by offering services in French.

More About Me:

I find balance by nurturing my connections with loved ones and engaging in activities that bring me joy - whether it’s through dancing (both solo and with a partner), exploring creative pursuits, swimming, reading, writing, or enjoying nature through hiking and walking.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Canadian Certified Counsellor holding a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Over the past decade, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families. There was a time when I couldn’t quite name what felt off… just a heaviness I carried, a persistent sense that something from the past was tugging at the present. I often felt emotionally distant, even from myself. My past showed up in ways I couldn’t always see clearly, and my emotions felt just out of reach, like I was living life slightly underwater. Beneath everything was a quiet melancholy, a sense of feeling lost, even when life on the outside looked fine.

Over time, I also began to recognize that some of my pain wasn’t just personal, it was shaped by the systems around me. We live in a world that often rewards disconnection, numbing, and performance over presence. A world where many of us have been asked to shrink ourselves, to override our truths, and to go it alone. But we are not meant to heal in isolation. We are wired for connection. We thrive in community and in relationships where we are loved and accepted as we are.

That’s why my therapeutic approach is grounded in helping you reconnect with your body, your emotions, and the parts of you that may have felt the pain of being misunderstood or rejected - not only in your personal story, but within a larger social and cultural one. I believe that healing doesn’t mean adapting to dysfunction. It means reclaiming your wholeness in a world that may have asked you to fragment yourself to survive.

I offer a space where you can begin to anchor in your own inner leadership and expand your capacity to feel, reflect, and act from a place of curiosity, compassion, and care. Drawing from mindfulness-based and somatic therapies, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Narrative Therapy, and relational modalities like Imago Relationship Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy, I hold an affirming, inclusive space that honors your unique cultural, lived experiences, and intersectionality.

When we work together, the aim isn’t perfection. It’s presence. You’ll begin to loosen the grip of old patterns, embody new truths, and align your actions with your values. The result is often a deeper connection to yourself and others, a more grounded sense of identity, and the quiet fulfillment that comes from living a life that finally feels like yours.

Thor in Therapy

Thor is my four-legged precious who joins us in session. He is full of personality and charm. He’s here to remind you that you are deeply loved just as you are. Thor knows a thing or two about anxiety himself. He understands that feeling uneasy in a new environment is completely natural. Sometimes, he’ll offer a cuddle or a gentle nudge, often in the most hilariously awkward positions, just to say, “I’m here with you.” With his cutest smile and heart full of unconditional love, Thor’s presence is a reminder that therapy is a space for all feelings, all sounds, all of you, and that you are loved just as much as he is.

Thor is a regular presence in my therapy space. If you have allergies or sensitivities, we can explore virtual options to ensure your comfort.

Experience & Training

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Canadian Certified Counsellor holding a Master of Counselling. Since graduating, I have focused my practice on supporting individuals to reconnect with themselves, navigate the lingering effects of their early experiences, and foster more fulfilling relationships - with their emotions, their bodies, and the people in their lives.

I am expanding my offerings to support creatives and performers - those whose work often asks them to stay open, expressive, and resilient in the face of uncertainty and scrutiny. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in the commercial, film, and TV industry, both in front of and behind the camera, across Asia, Europe, and North America. This lived experience continues to inform the way I show up in the therapy room: with nuance, attunement, and deep respect for the emotional and relational complexities of creative life.

I am of Indonesian, Malaysian, and Chinese descent, and bring a culturally responsive lens to my work that honours both the richness and tension of holding multiple identities. I continue to learn to appreciate and embrace my Chinese and Southeast Asian heritage.

More Than Just My Work:

Outside of therapy, I cherish quiet moments at home with my son and our dog, Thor. I’m drawn to activities that nurture presence and connection like journaling, reading, and time in nature. These simple joys help me stay connected to what matters most.

Suffering is an unavoidable part of the human experience. Yet, when you’re immersed in past or present struggles, it’s so natural to feel isolated, stuck, and unsure of how to move forward. The pain can become so overwhelming that it not only interferes with your ability to cope, but it also can rob you of your joy. I view counselling as a nurturing space for appreciating how you’ve supported yourself while also building a deeper sense of freedom, strength, and connection to what matters to you.

My approach is collaborative and personalized to my client’s individual needs and experiences. I draw from several evidence-based therapies to invite my clients into self-exploration, developing new responses to old patterns, and a deeper harmony with self. By incorporating the wisdom of the mind, body, and emotions, we move together towards change on a cellular level.

I am committed to sensitively and compassionately walking beside you through the counselling process. Together, we can approach challenges, obstacles, and suffering with curiosity and care. By accessing the rich wisdom of your body, emotions, and relationships, I hope to support you in connecting more deeply to the values you desire to embody in your life. Beginning counselling takes courage and tenacity. I consider it a privilege to journey beside you towards greater authenticity and wellbeing.

Since graduating, I have focused my practice on helping clients through traumas and many other concerns with the use of evidence-based practices such as Mindfulness-based therapy and Somatic therapy. More About Me:

When I’m not connecting with clients, I love foraging for four-leaf clovers and sea glass, reading, laughing with my loved ones, going for walks, and watching movies. My own appreciation for the small moments of life (enjoying a smile from a stranger, seeing a bird in a tree, observing a gesture of kindness) informs my sense of enthusiasm for life both as an individual and a professional.

When things are going wrong, change can sometimes feel impossible. If you’re here, it’s probably because you’ve identified something in your life you aren’t satisfied with and you’re ready to try something new.

I believe any challenge we encounter will impact our emotions, our thoughts, and our physical body. By tuning into all three, we can turn signs of distress into sources of insight, and resources for self-soothing and emotional management. To that end, EMDR Therapy is my preferred approach for assisting clients in facing and moving through traumas big and small. Combining the healing power of EMDR with elements of mindfulness, self-compassion, skill-building, and role-play techniques has helped my clients move through difficulties, heal past wounds, and get their lives back on track.

By looking for help, you have initiated a process that can transform your life. My clients show me that it is absolutely possible to feel, think, and react differently, and you don’t have to struggle towards change alone.

I am on a mission to help women break the intergenerational cycles of trauma. Clients often come to me feeling completely overwhelmed and frazzled, with nervous systems that have an incredibly difficult time settling. As you may know, when you’ve experienced emotional pain, neglect, or abuse in your past, it doesn’t just live in your memories – it shows up in your body.

It is an honour to guide the people I work with through EMDR Therapy and witness the untangling of hurt that’s been holding them back from fully connecting with their partners, children, parents and colleagues. I get so excited when I see clients heal parts of themselves they were previously fully disconnected from and leave therapy feeling clear-headed, confident, and capable both in their inner and outer relationships. Knowing this deep healing work breaks cycles of trauma, not just for my clients but for their children and future generations, makes it even more meaningful.

Driven by my natural tendencies toward compassion and curiosity, I pursued graduate school in Counselling Psychology, where I deepened my understanding not only of evidence-based psychotherapies but of intersubjectivity a key ingredient in transformative healing.

Along with my EMDR training and deep passion for working with women who have experienced trauma, I am also trained and experienced in play-based interventions for children and youth including Kalffian Sandplay Therapy. I worked as a counsellor and counsellor trainer in non-profits, the high school system, a hospital, a research lab, private practices and many iterations of my own practice before creating The Trauma Therapy Group. I have unashamedly used my own past pain as a means of motivation and a catalyst for personal and professional evolution.
